WCMA is a vibrant hub for learning and participation.

We believe in taking risks and testing creative, future forms of scholarship and teaching. We leverage our intimate size, college setting, and interdisciplinary context to generate experimental, hands-on learning experiences.

Equity & Inclusion

We respectfully acknowledge that Williams College stands on the ancestral homelands of the Stockbridge-Munsee Mohicans, who are the indigenous peoples of the region now called Williamstown. Following tremendous hardship after being forced from their valued homelands, they continued as a sovereign Tribal Nation in Wisconsin, which is where they reside today. We pay honor and respect to their ancestors past and present as we commit to building a more inclusive and equitable space for all.

WCMA’s DEI Plan (2021-2023)

We at the Williams College Museum of Art are willing, resourced, and committed to the work of fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and access at the museum, on campus, within our arts ecosystem in the Northern Berkshires, and as part of national and global efforts. Our two-year DEI plan contains a continuation of existing commitments as well as new initiatives; all are borne out of our ongoing learning and focus on creating a culture of belonging together.
