In Process: “Nude, Harlem”

WCMA's recent acquisition of James Van Der Zee's "Nude, Harlem," is the focal point for salon-style conversations about the body in art, culture, and society.

Assistant Curator of Public Programs Nina Pelaez facilitates a conversation with local artist and photography teacher Ben Ripley. Topics of discussion will include historical photographic techniques, the body of the photograph, studio portrait backdrops, 4×5 cameras, and looking as a process of understanding.
