Celebrate “Dance We Must”

Reception 5:30 pm
Performances 6 pm

Start the evening with a drink on the WCMA patio. Dancers take the celebration inside for performances in the galleries. The historical choreography of Ted Shawn comes to life in live reconstructions by Adam H. Weinert. Weinert and company perform Pierrot in the Dead City, Four Solos Based on American Folk Music, and other historic solos. Erica Dankmeyer will perform a reconstruction of one of Ruth St. Denis’ earliest nautch dances, Bakawali Nautch, 1913.
